Mount Joy is a borough of about eight thousand that has grown quickly, with a brick downtown and large newer neighborhoods on all sides. Fox Gables Construction covers it for the full range of exterior and interior work, with the bigger jobs scheduled so the drive makes sense.
The growth means two kinds of customers: owners of 1900s brick homes dealing with slate, porches and wood windows, and owners of 2000s homes whose builder-grade roofs, decks and windows are wearing out early.
Houses in Mount Joy and what they need
The borough core is brick rows, twins and singles with porches, built from the 1880s to the 1930s. Slate and old shingle roofs, box gutters and wood windows are the common issues. The post-war neighborhoods have ranches and split-levels due for roofs and siding.
The newer subdivisions in Rapho and East Donegal townships were built with twenty-year shingles, pressure-treated decks and builder-grade windows, many of which are failing earlier than owners expected. Replacing a fifteen-year-old roof or a rotting deck on a house built in 2005 is a common Mount Joy call.
